Cabinet of Collected Collections

Naturalia, Artificialia and ‘Prullaria’

Hi. I am authenktic and in my ‘Cabinet of Curiosities of Collected Collections’ I bring together all the collections of naturalia, artificialia and prullaria (Dutch for knick knacks) that I shared on Pinterest. Every collection consists of special objects, stuff, things, curiosities and gadgets. I started some collections myself, others I received from people around me, and I may or may not have added to them.

Collected Collections

The Cabinet is a tribute to my mother. She loved walking and often collected small, insignificant objects from nature during her walks; a few stones, a beautiful feather or a few shells. She also made small works of art, with needle and thread, from fabric or clay. Her paraphernalia forms the heart of my Cabinet.

Every year in May, the month of her birthday, I share one of her collections, which I lovingly keep in her oiled teak cabinet, which she purchased in the 1950s.

The Library is a tribute to my father. He was a man of few words. When he spoke, he spoke calmly, deliberately, not a word too many.

Every year in November, during the week of his birthday, I share a quote from one of his books (or a quote in his spirit), which I lovingly keep in his homemade red bookcase from the 1950s. The bookcase, consisting of plywood planks on the outside, a number of slats with serrated edges and two wooden shelves, is surprisingly light and sturdy.
